Inflation/Prices

Since 1974, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has been based on results from household budget surveys. At present, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Curaçao calculates the CPI using data from the most recent Household Expenditure Survey conducted in 2015/2016.

Prices of goods and services change regularly due to various factors, such as international market developments and local economic conditions. The CPI helps track these changes in a clear and structured way.

The Consumer Price Index measures how the prices of a fixed basket of goods and services — typically purchased by households — change over time. It is widely used to monitor inflation and to understand how the cost of living is developing in Curaçao.

On this page, you can find the latest monthly press releases and statistical tables with the most up-to-date inflation figures. These publications explain recent price developments, including monthly and yearly changes.

You can also access our Consumer Price Index portal, where all CPI data are compiled in one place. The portal allows you to explore detailed figures by category, compare trends over time, and download data for your own use.
