Participation Survey
The Participation Survey of the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) was conducted between July 1st until the 3rd of October of 2016.
The central question of the Participation Survey is to what extent the population of Curaçao engages in sports and cultural activities. Additionally, the survey had examine the relationship between the population’s level of participation and their demographic, social and economic characteristics.
The forms of participation that was examined in the survey were:
Active participation:
Personal involvement (as an amateur) in the practice and execution of sports activities/personal involvement (as an amateur) in the practice and execution of cultural activities (such as playing in a band).
Passive participation:
Watching (as a spectator) or following sports events/watching (as a spectator) or following cultural events (such as dancing at a dance party).
Supportive participation:
Supporting the sports sector (such as by contributing money or time)/supporting the cultural sector (such as by contributing money or time).
