National Accounts Curaçao offers a source of information for everyone who wishes to be informed about various topics regarding the economic situation of Curaçao. The national accounts of Curaçao are based on the concepts and definitions recommended by the UN and IMF in the System of National Accounts 1993 (SNA1993)/SNA 2008 as far as the data availability allows it. The system consists of a consistent and flexible set of macro-economic accounts, which can be used for economic analysis (by either local organization and institutions such as enterprises, universities, students and international organizations as the UN, IMF, World Bank) and policy purposes.

The data series for 2011 up to 2016 has been modified due to changes in, among others, import and exports data, data of enterprises and government, errors, and some improvements in the balancing process. As a consequence, also the macro-economic aggregates as GDP, GNI, GNDI and other aggregates have been changed. A table with the differences between the new and old series of these macro-economic aggregates is provided in this publication.

The National Accounts of Curaçao are in a transition phase towards full implementation of SNA 2008. Certain concepts and definitions are already implemented such as ISIC Rev. 4 and R&D (as part of gross capital formation). Other conceptual issues regarding SNA 2008 will be implemented gradually, considering the availability of data and staff and with technical assistance from international experts.

Although a data set from 2011 to 2017 is provided the analyses in this regards the current year 2017.
