Health is an important indicator of overall well-being. CBS collects information on different aspects of health, including how people perceive their own health, chronic conditions and disabilities, as well as the use, accessibility and experience of healthcare services.

Data from the 2023 Census show that the majority of Curaçao’s population perceives their health positively. In 2023, 84.4 percent of the population rated their health as good or very good. The Census also provides information on chronic health conditions and disabilities, offering a broader picture of the health status of the population. 

More recent information from Enkuesta Sosial 2025 provides additional insight into how residents use and experience healthcare services. The results show that 95.9 percent of respondents reported having health insurance and 50.8 percent had visited a general practitioner within the previous six months. Overall, 52 percent reported being satisfied or very satisfied with healthcare in Curaçao. The survey also provides information on dental care, medical specialists, accessibility and affordability of healthcare, informal care and sickness absence due to health problems. 

Together, these statistics provide a broader picture of health and healthcare in Curaçao, covering both the health status of the population and people’s use of and experiences with healthcare services.
