Health & Welfare
Health is an important indicator of overall well-being and provides insight into how people experience their quality of life. One of the key measures used is self-perceived health, which reflects how individuals evaluate their own health compared to others of the same age. This is a subjective measure, meaning that people in similar circumstances may assess their health differently.
Data from the 2023 Census show that the majority of the population in Curaçao perceives their health positively. In 2023, 84.4 percent of individuals rated their health as (very) good, compared to 87 percent in 2011. While this indicates a slight decline overall, there has been a shift within the positive category from “good” to “very good.”
