FAQ – Enkuesta Sosial 2026

Enkuesta Sosial 2026 is a survey conducted by CBS Curaçao to collect information about the social and living conditions of the population of Curaçao.

The survey helps CBS gain a better understanding of the situation of the population. The results provide statistical information that can be used, among other things, for research, policy development and decision-making.

Enkuesta Sosial 2026 includes questions on four main topics: labour, health, housing needs and emergency preparedness.

Fieldwork starts on 19 September 2026. From that date onwards, CBS interviewers will visit the selected households.

Only households/addresses selected for the sample can participate in the survey.

A sample is a selection of addresses from all addresses in Curaçao. The information collected from the selected households is used to provide an overall picture of the population of Curaçao.

Addresses are selected using a statistical method. Therefore, your address was not selected because of any personal information CBS may have about you.

Selected households will receive a letter from CBS in advance explaining that their address has been selected to participate in Enkuesta Sosial 2026.

A CBS interviewer will visit the selected address and conduct the questionnaire in person.

The interviewer can identify themselves with official CBS identification. CBS may also provide information on its website showing how to recognize its interviewers and their identification.

Yes. If you have any doubts, you can contact CBS by telephone or WhatsApp before participating to verify whether the person is an official CBS interviewer.

The more selected households participate, the better CBS can develop a reliable picture of the situation of the population. Each selected participant represents a part of the population within the survey.

Yes. The information you provide is treated confidentially and used for statistical purposes. Results are published in such a way that individual persons or households cannot be identified.

No. Individual responses are not published as information about a specific person or household.

CBS processes your answers together with those of other participants to produce statistical results, such as totals, percentages and other indicators.

The actual average interview duration should be added once it has been finalized, for example: “The interview takes approximately XX minutes on average.”

No. There is no cost to participate in a CBS survey.

The official CBS procedure should be clearly stated here. For example, if the interview can also be conducted at the door, this should be explicitly mentioned. This is an important safety-related question.

The actual fieldwork procedure should be stated here, for example, whether the interviewer will return, leave a card, or whether an appointment can be arranged.

If this is operationally possible, this option should be offered. It may help increase participation in the survey.

Only state “yes” if CBS actually offers these options. If the survey is conducted exclusively face-to-face, clearly state: “Enkuesta Sosial 2026 is conducted in person by a CBS interviewer.”
