This edition of the newsletter "CBS ta Informá" highlights the key findings of the 2024 Labour Force Survey (LFS), conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Curaçao.

Introduction
Labor Force Survey 2024 survey was conducted between October and November of 2024, with a sample size of 2,650 households, to represent the entire island in geographic, demographic, and socio-economic characteristics. The final sample size was 4,006 respondents.

The Employed Population
The results of the LFS show that the employed population in Curaçao reached 71,919 persons, in 2024. Of the total, 38,174 are women and 33,745 are men, indicating a higher number of employed women than men. 

Between 2022 and 2024, employed men increased from 31,546 to 33,745, an rise of 7.0%. Employed women grew from 35,175 to 38,174, an 8.5% increase. In both years, more women were employed than men.  

As illustrated in the graph below, employment has shown an upward trend over the past four years, with nearly 15,000 additional persons entering the workforce between 2020 and 2024. This development points to sustained economic activity and reflects a gradual, yet consistent, recovery and growth in the labour market over past years.
