"The economy of Curaçao has decreased with -1.0 percent in 2016"

Economic activities in a country are characterized by numerous transactions between differtent sectors, namely the government, the financial and non-financial sector, the household sector, the non-profit institutions and the rest of the world. In order to understand this complex economic process, it is important to have an adequate system.

National Accounts provide an overview of the economic process in a certain year. This overview is based on the concepts and definitions recommended by the UN and IMF in the System of National Accounts 1993 (SNA 1993) as far as the data availability allows it. The system consists of a consistent and flexible set of macro-economic accounts, which can be used for economic analysis (by either local organizations and institutions such as enterprises, universities, students and international organizations as the UN, IMF, Worldbank) and policy purposes.

Under this theme in addition to data on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) you can also find data on Gross National Income, Income by capita, Gross savings, Gross National Disposable Income. All the data presented in this section are estimates of CBS.
